In 1729, two brothers from Idiazabal were sentenced to exile for playing a forbidden instrument, the eltzegorra, a clay pot made of cat fur with a rope hanging from it.
In the trial, documented in a manuscript from that year, witnesses recall the events, making special mention of the description of sound and its effects.
Now, through the staging of the trial, the film explores the evocative power of sound and the fear of the unknown.

David Aguilar Iñigo is a filmmaker who is part of the Zazpi t’erdi collective. His work is interested in the mixture of audiovisual genres. He pays special attention to the cinematographic process and its way of relating to reality; these are films that range from non- fiction to experimental cinema. He is the screenwriter and director of films such as La vía flotante (2019 X Films Winner of the Punto de Vista Festival), Vinegar syndrome (2017 Alcances Special Mention), Mara Mara (2016), and Nao Yik (2011 First Prize Alcine).The films produced by Zazpi T’erdi and in which David participates in different roles have been awarded at international festivals such as San Sebastian, Málaga, Punto de Vista or Zinebi to name a few. Their last production Erreplika (2024) had its International Premiere at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and won the Special Mention of the Jury of the Basque Film Award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. In addition to cinema, he has created audiovisual works for performing arts as cultural collaborative projects and events.
