ALESSANDRO AMATO

Producer. Alessandro Amato co-founded the production company dispàrte in 2015 after earning a Law degree and a diploma in Film Production. He has produced award-winning films at international festivals, including Margins by Niccolò Falsetti (Venice Critics’ Week 2022 – Audience Award) and Maternal by Maura Delpero (Locarno International Competition 2019 – four awards). He was a Producer on the Move and is a member of the European Film Academy, the European Producers Club, and the ACE, EAVE, and Berlinale Talents networks. He teaches Production at universities and film schools, and is an expert for EAVE PUENTES.
ANA DAVID

Festival programmer and independent curator, working between Portugal and Berlin. She's an advisor to the official programme of the Berlinale, and a member of the advisory board of Berlinale Panorama since 2017. Between 2021 and 2024, she served as curator at Batalha Centro de Cinema (Porto), where she co-curated the series 'Politics of Sci-Fi', 'Domesticities', and 'After Hours: Clubbing on Film'. Previous programming positions include IndieLisboa, Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, Oslo/Fusion, BFI London Film Festival, and Queer Lisboa, the latter as co-director. She has organised retrospectives dedicated to Angelo Madsen Minax, Claire Denis, Joanna Hogg, Luísa Homem, Annemarie Jacir, and Jane Campion.
CINTIA GIL

Born in Portugal, Cíntia Gil has served as director of Doclisboa (Portugal) and Sheffield DocFest (UK). She co-founded the cinema club Artistic Differences with Jenny Miller and Christopher Allen at UnionDocs (New York).Cíntia has curated film series and exhibitions, and has taught seminars, lectures, and workshops at various institutions, including the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (Mexico), EICTV (Cuba), HGK Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (Germany), and Pompeu Fabra University (Spain), among others. She has participated in numerous panels, forums, and public discussions on film, documentary, festivals, and film programming, and has served on juries at festivals such as Berlinale, Cairo, Mar del Plata, Jerusalem, Taiwan, FidMarseille, DokuFest, and FICUNAM, among others. She is currently part of the programming teams of Cannes.



HELENA GIRÓN

Fillmaker. Her work, together with Samuel M. Delgado, explores the relationships between mythology, history, and materialism. Their first feature film, They carry death (2021), premiered and received awards at the Venice and San Sebastián film festivals. It has since been screened at international festivals such as Rotterdam, Cairo, Mar del Plata, Jeonju, the Viennale, and São Paulo. Their short films have been shown at festivals including Toronto, Locarno, New York, and Ann Arbor, among many others. They have created installations and performances in art centers such as Conde Duque (Madrid), BAM (New York), TEA (Tenerife), and Solar (Vila do Conde). She collaborate as a lecturer at ECAM (Madrid), EQZE (San Sebastián), and IFIC (Tenerife).


JAMIE WEISS

Producer, born in New York and based in Madrid, Spain. Since 2015 he has worked at El Viaje Films (Madrid/Tenerife), bringing an international perspective to this award-winning independent production company, collaborating on projects such as Blanco en blanco by Theo Court (2019), La hojarasca by Macu Machín (2023), A nuestros amigos by Adrián Orr (2024), and La lucha by José Alayón (2025), among others. As producer and coordinator of international co-productions at El Viaje Films, he has taken part in markets, festivals, forums, and labs around the world. He has also served on juries at international markets such as CineMart (Rotterdam) and CineMundi (Brazil). In addition, he works as a film project advisor and teaches at ECAM (Madrid), IFIC (Tenerife), and is a professor at TAI (Madrid).



PAMELA BIENZOBAS

Chilean-French consultant, programmer, and critic. She has been a member of the Locarno Film Festival’s feature film selection committee since 2021. She has an extensive track record as a consultant for funds, labs, residencies, and industry events, selecting, evaluating, and advising projects at various stages, from development to post-production. She has collaborated with Abycine Lanza, Ventana Sur, First Cut Lab, ECAM Forum, the Doha Film Institute, CineGouna Platform, Biennale College Cinema, Torino Film Lab, visions sud est, La Fabrique Cinéma, among many others; and with festivals such as FICX Gijón, IFFRotterdam, and the Berlinale Forum as a moderator of meetings. As a critic, she has published in magazines, newspapers, books, and specialized websites for more than two decades.


PAULA PALACIOS

panish documentary filmmaker working from Madrid and Paris. She has produced and directed more than 25 documentaries for television networks such as ARTE, Al Jazeera, Public Sénat, France 3, and RTVE. Her first feature-length film, Cartas mojadas, premiered in 2020 in the Official Section of the Málaga Festival, where it received the Silver Biznaga, the Audience Award for Best Documentary. The film was nominated for the Goya, Forqué, and Platino Awards. After its premiere in the Tiempo de Historia section at SEMINCI and its run through various festivals, her second film, Mi hermano Alí, received nominations for the 2024 Forqué Awards and the 2025 Goya Awards. She is currently working on her first fiction feature film, La prima mayor, produced by A Contracorriente Films, and is also developing as screenwriter and director the fiction feature Amor de Dios, based on an original idea by Carlos Saura, a project that participated in the last edition of the Spanish Film Academy’s Residencias program.

JUAN CAVESTANY

Screenwriter, director, and playwright. His film have been presented at international film festival such as Rotterdam, San Sebastián, Sitges or BAFICI. In 2025, he premiered Madrid, Ext., a symphonic documentary about the city, filmed over the course of three years. In 2013, he received the Sant Jordi Award for People in Places, a self-produced film, as were Dispongo de barcos ( I Have Boats), El señor ( The Gentleman), Esa sensación ( That Feeling), and Un efecto óptico ( An Optical Illusion). He is the co-creator of the TV series Vergüenza ( Shame) and Sentimos las molestias ( We Apologize for the Inconvenience), for Movistar, and Grande de España for Netflix. In theatre, he won the Max Award for Urtain in 2008, he has written and directed El traje ( The Suit) (2013, revived in 2023), and collaborated with Animalario and Andrés Lima on other productions such as Alejandro y Ana, Penumbra, Moby Dick, and the Shock Trilogy, which concludes with 1936.

MANUEL PALOS

He has worked as an editor in the section of culture for several newspapers, as an editor in advertising agencies and as an assistant director/producer in films and television series. He has also collaborated in cultural publications and has been a lecturer at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Carlos III University of Madrid. Thirteen years ago, he joined Avalon, an independent film production and distribution company. He started as head of communications for the Home Video division, then he worked as head of press for the company, and later he was the director of marketing and communications. During this time, he has been in charge of films by directors such as Yorgos Lanthimos, Andrea Arnold, Ruben Ostlund, Jacques Audiard, Isaki Lacuesta, Carla Simón, Aki Kaurismäki and Víctor Erice, among many others. He currently coordinates the distribution department and the launch of all Avalon's premieres. He also attends European festivals and markets (mainly Cannes and Berlinale) as part of the acquisitions team.

PABLO MARÍN

Argentinian filmmaker and writer. As an independent researcher and curator, he has presented programmes on Argentinean cinema in the United States, Canada, Europe and currently curates the monthly series "Confesionario. Mapa de voces experimentales" at Cineteca Madrid. He has translated books by Jonas Mekas, Stan Brakhage and John Waters, among others, and his volume on Argentine experimental cinema, "Una luz revelada. El cine experimental argentino", was published in 2022. His film Resistfilm (2014) won the best Avant-Garde Film at Filmadrid, while Trampa de luz (2021) was awarded the Principal Online Prize of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. Materia vibrante (2024) is his last film.
TIAGO HESPANHA

Film director and producer. Has a degree in architecture. Completed the course on documentary film direction at Ateliers Varan and a master’s degree on documentary creation in Barcelona. Founding member of the production company Terratreme Filmes (2008), where he produces his films and works with several directors and producers. Teaches film directing at the Docnomads international master’s degree on documentary film since 2012 and is a member of Ateliers Varan.
