Ariel
Spain - Portugal / 2025 / 108'
Plot
Actress Agustina Muñoz travels to the Azores to perform in a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. When she arrives, she finds neither a company nor a theater. As she meets Ariel, she discovers that the play has already begun: the entire island is a stage, and its inhabitants are the performers.
Ariel—Lois Patiño's fiction debut—is a fable about freedom, identity, and memory; a meta-cinematic game that moves between reality and imagination.
