Plot
With the start of summer in Murcia, Lionel receives some news: when he turns 26, he will lose the orphan's pension he has been living on since the death of his mother, Marisol. While his friends begin to leave the neighborhood for vacation, his father reappears with a crazy proposal: to drive to France to visit his sister Alicia and continue on to the French Riviera, where his father was born, to attend the tribute to his uncle who died two years ago.

Carlos Saiz
Carlos Saiz is a director from Murcia based between Madrid and Barcelona. In 2017, he enrolled in the Master's Degree in Film Directing at the EFTI School after obtaining the IV Scholarship in Digital Cinema. His final master's project, La hoguera (2020), was presented at some thirty international festivals, including San Sebastián, Clermont-Ferrand, Molodist Kyiv, and Ficunam. A year later, he explored new territory with the animated short film Muerte Murciélago (2021), which was selected for festivals such as ZINEBI, Slamdance, and Málaga, and was nominated for the Goya Awards. His first feature film, Lionel (2025), premiered in the Official Selection of the 70th edition of Seminci and won awards at development labs such as Torino Film Lab, Ventana CineMad, and MAFIZ.
